Las úlceras son la principal causa de hospitalización por hemorragia digestiva alta. Por lo tanto, la mayoría de los ensayos clínicos para el tratamiento de la hemorragia digestiva alta se centran en la enfermedad ulcerosa. Debido a que el 70-80% de la hemorragia digestiva alta en la población general se resuelve espontáneamente y el tratamiento activo simultáneos de los pacientes con hemorragia aguda son más importantes que la intervención quirúrgica. El objetivo es determinar la morbilidad asociada en pacientes ingresados en sala general con neumonía por Covid-19 y que presentan hemorragia digestiva en el hospital León Becerra Camacho-Milagro, describiendo las características epidemiológicas, los síntomas y definir su prevalencia. La metodología en el estudio es de enfoque y tipo cuantitativo. El principal criterio de inclusión son pacientes con diagnóstico COVID-19 durante su estancia hospitalaria y que presentaron hemorragias digestivas CIE - 10: K92.2. La muestra incluyo pacientes que fueron ingresados de forma consecutiva durante el periodo que va desde diciembre del 2019 a diciembre 2021. Los resultados de la investigación de los pacientes con COVID-19 que presentan hemorragia digestiva en nuestro estudio son comorbilidades como el Helicobacter pylori con un 90%, el consumo de AINES con 94%, la gastritis con 71%, la estancia hospitalaria más frecuente fue de 8 a 15 días con un 62%, todos los resultados comparados con investigaciones descritas en las bibliografías.The 2019 COVID-19 outbreak became a global pandemic, and that anticoagulants are being used for patients with severe Covid infections. Ulcers are the leading cause of hospitalization for upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Therefore, most clinical trials for the treatment of upper GI bleeding focus on ulcer disease. Because 70-80% of upper GI bleeding in the general population resolves spontaneously and simultaneous active treatment of patients with acute bleeding is more important than surgical intervention. The objective is to determine the associated morbidity in patients admitted to the general ward with Covid-19 pneumonia and who present gastrointestinal bleeding at the León Becerra Camacho-Milagro hospital, describing the epidemiological characteristics, symptoms and defining their prevalence. The methodology of the study is quantitative in approach and type. The main inclusion criteria are patients with COVID-19 diagnosis during their hospital stay and who presented gastrointestinal bleeding ICD - 10: K92.2. The sample included patients who were consecutively admitted during the period from December 2019 to December 2021. The results of the investigation of patients with COVID-19 presenting GI bleeding in our study are comorbidities such as Helicobacter pylori with 90%, NSAID consumption with 94%, gastritis with 71%, the most frequent hospital stay was 8 to 15 days with 62%, all results compared with investigations described in the bibliographies.Universidad Guayaquil.
