Las futuras prótesis que se realizarán solucionarían los problemas de la oclusión dentaria, con dientes artificiales anatómicos que reemplazarán a los dientes naturales recuperando la armonía facial, dimensión vertical, que deben satisfacer las aspiraciones sicológicas del paciente desdentado total de ambas arcadas. El edentulismo total maxilar y mandibular; últimos estudios han demostrado que esta patología afecta a la población adulta 40-50 años, siendo frecuente en poblaciones urbano marginal y rurales del país, generalmente causada por caries dentales, enfermedades periodontales o traumatismos, logrando su desarrollo por factores culturales, conductuales, socioeconómicos, psicológicos, a falta de políticas de salud preventiva que eviten la propagación de la patología mencionada. En la actualidad la odontología moderna ha desarrollado un elevado nivel tecnológico dotando a los especialistas en rehabilitación bucal de equipos y biomateriales asegurando un elevado porcentaje en el éxito de dichos tratamientos. Habiendo desarrollado biomateriales fotopolimerizable que por su calidad y equipos con los cuáles son transportados a la cavidad bucal, que garantizan la calidad del tratamiento rehabilitador. El manejo de estos biomateriales para sus correctas aplicaciones requiere de la perfecta manipulación, que asegure el éxito del tratamiento protésico, con excelente adaptación que determine el soporte, estabilidad y retención de las futuras prótesis totales.The prosthetic treatment of edentulous patients bimaxillary aims to restore facial alterations, biological, psychological, cráneomaxilares relations, neuromuscular, temporomandibular joints, bone resorption of the residual ridges, systemic diseases that cause dysfunction of stomatognathic system, altering the comprehensive health and quality of life. Future prosthesis to be performed solve the problems of dental occlusion with anatomical artificial teeth that replace natural teeth recovering facial harmony, vertical dimension, which must meet the psychological aspirations of the edentulous patient of both arches.
