This research explores the influence of role-play on developing speaking skills among A2.2 level students at Unidad Educativa Fiscal Calicuchima. The study addresses the critical issue of students' difficulties in language production, diagnosed through a comprehensive assessment that included a diagnostic test, a students’ survey, and an interview with the course instructor. A mixed-methods approach was employed, integrating bibliographic review, field research, and statistical analysis to gain a holistic understanding of the problem. The proposal involves role-play activities based on scripts about everyday topics, designed to enhance both teaching strategies and student engagement, aiming to improve English communication skills. The findings suggest that role-play can significantly mitigate the barriers to effective language production and enhance overall learning outcomes. This thesis provides valuable insights into the application of innovative didactic techniques and suggests that these findings could be applied to other similar educational contexts with students at the same proficiency level.
