La problemática se orienta a la falta de equipos óptimos con que cuenta el departamento, donde cada servicio se ejecuta en una desktop con recursos limitados que fungen como servidor. El objetivo de este proyecto es la implementación de la gestión de las redes inalámbricas, optimizar servicios e innovar con nueva tecnología utilizando virtualización de servidores. El proyecto tuvo como etapas de desarrollo el testeo con la herramienta Xen como opción inicial de virtualizador, luego de se procedió a realizar pruebas con KVM y finalmente con VirtualBox. Se procedió a realizar las pruebas respectivas a las herramientas Snort, y EasyHotspot. De los resultados de estos tests al software de virtualización, se escogió a VirtualBox, por las características y opciones necesarias que debe cumplir el virtualizador en cuestiones de administración de hardware y software a implementarse. Para el control de red se utiliza EasyHotspot como software viable para el levantamiento del servicio wireless. Estas herramientas satisfacen las necesidades del tema planteado y a las actualizaciones que se pueden dar en un futuro en cuestiones de mejorar estos servicios. Estas herramientas se instalaron en un equipo servidor IBM X3200 M3 el cual cumple con requerimientos de soporte de virtualización por hardware, como sistema operativo base se seleccionó Ubuntu 12.04 LTS en su versión servidor para la administración de las aplicaciones anteriormente mencionadas. Se configuro e instalo un switch 3Com para la conexión del servidor con los Access points dentro de la CISC. Cabe recalcar que esta implementación ha sido implementada enteramente con software libre y con infraestructura enteramente dirigida a servicios 24/7.This project explains the implementation of a solution to the lack of server computers for technological innovation implementation services in Departamento Informático de la Carrera de Ingeniería en Sistema Computacionales de la Universidad de Guayaquil. The issue is focused on the lack of optimal equipment available to the department, where each service runs on a desktop with limited resources that act as a server. The objective of this project is the implementation of wireless networks management, optimize and innovate with new services using server virtualization technology. The project was the testing stages of development with the tool Xen virtualizer as initial option, and then proceeded to testing with KVM and VirtualBox finally. We proceeded to perform the respective tests to Snort tools and EasyHotspot. From the results of these tests virtualization software, VirtualBox was chosen by the features and options needed to be met in administration virtualizer for hardware and software to be implemented.
