(TOMILLO)EXPECTORANTEINFECCIONES RESPIRATORIASPdfEl propósito de este trabajo bibliográfico fue comparar las propiedades expectorantes entre el tomillo (Thymus vulgaris) y el Eucalipto (Eucalyptus globulus), que son consideradas como un tratamiento fitoterapéutico natural, cuyos extractos son usados para la elaboración de medicamentos en diferentes formas farmacéuticas para tratar patologías con la finalidad de conocer su efectividad en pacientes que presenten enfermedades respiratorias con diferentes grados de complejidad. Los beneficios de dichas plantas son numerosos entre ellos está, aliviar el resfriado, tratar infecciones, dolores de diferentes partes del organismo, descongestionar las fosas nasales mejorando la fluidez respiratoria, todo esto gracias a los aceites esenciales mentolados que contienen cada una de ellas. Este presente trabajo posee una metodología de investigación bibliográfica, por la cual se realizó la recopilación de información de libros y se analizaron diferentes Artículos científicos donde se dedujo que el mayor componente del Eucalyptus globulus es el 1,8 cineol que constituye el 42,43% de esta planta medicinal y el que se encuentra en mayor abundancia en el Thymus vulgaris es el timol con un 32,62%, para la extracción de estos principios activo tomaron en consideración de varios métodos de extracción entre ellos: el método de percolación, maceración, decocción e infusión. Además, en un análisis clínico demostraron que estos principios activos actúan sobre diferentes afecciones respiratorias con una importante reducción de los síntomas ocasionados por las mismas. Finalmente se entendió que el Thymus vulgaris, por otra parte, presenta actividades espamoliticas que ocasionan un efecto relajante en las vías bronquiales resultando así, un tratamiento muy eficaz.The purpose of this bibliographic work was to compare the expectorant properties between thyme (Thymus vulgaris) and Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus), which are considered as a natural phytotherapeutic treatment, whose extracts are used for the elaboration of medicines in different pharmaceutical forms to treat pathologies in order to know their effectiveness in patients with respiratory diseases with different degrees of complexity. The benefits of these plants are numerous, among them is, relieve colds, treat infections, pains in different parts of the body, decongest the nasal passages improving respiratory fluidity, all this thanks to the menthol essential oils that each one contains. This present work has a bibliographic research methodology, by which the compilation of information from books was carried out and different scientific articles were analyzed where it was deduced that the largest component of Eucalyptus globulus is 1.8 cineol, which constitutes 42.43% of this medicinal plant and the one found in greater abundance in Thymus vulgaris is thymol with 32.62%, for the extraction of these active principles they took into consideration several extraction methods among them: the percolation method, maceration , decoction and infusion. In addition, in a clinical analysis they showed that these active principles act on different respiratory conditions with a significant reduction in the symptoms caused by them. Finally, it was understood that Thymus vulgaris, on the other hand, presents spamolytic activities that cause a relaxing effect on the bronchial tract, thus resulting in a very effective treatment.Universidad de Guayaquil.
