Para obtener información referente al tema se utilizaron las siguientes herramientas: entrevistas y encuestas, utilizando el método de investigación cuantitativa, para interpretar las necesidades del personal administrativo, docentes y estudiantes. Como propuesta se ofrece el diseño de un prototipo basado en tecnología Arduino, complementado por un lector RFID que interactúa con una tarjeta o etiqueta RFID y una tarjeta Ethernet con puerto Micro SD para el almacenamiento de los datos y registro. Este estudio pretende optimizar, automatizar y garantizar la seguridad en la facultad de Ingeniería Industrial.The present thesis project is based on the problems of the security system that exists in the Faculty of Industrial Engineering of the University of Guayaquil, therefore, the proposal to carry out the study based on RFID technology, which allows access control and automation of the different areas of the Faculty. To obtain information on the subject, the following tools are used: interviews and surveys, using the quantitative research method, to interpret the needs of administrative personnel, teachers and students. As a proposal was offer the design of a prototype based on Arduino technology, complemented by an RFID reader and an Ethernet card with Micro SD port for data storage and registration.
