This research is also intended to contribute to the acquisition of English vocabulary in eighth-grade students at Escuela de Educación Básica “Mariscal Sucre” through a booklet with selected texts and exercises aimed at developing vocabulary in English. It is used as an additional tool than those used in class. The work of this booklet is aimed to improve reading comprehension in English for the same document. It has stories that adapt to the students' level of comprehension both in the knowledge of English and in the extension of the textEl propósito de esta investigación es determinar la importancia de leer en la adquisición de vocabulario en inglés, mediante la aplicación de observaciones de investigación, encuestas y entrevistas; definir la utilidad de leer textos apropiados para el nivel con el fin de mejorar el proceso de adquisición de vocabulario; explore las técnicas y estrategias utilizadas por los maestros para enseñar vocabulario y establezca la importancia de implementar una colección de textos y ejercicios dirigidos al desarrollo del vocabulario. Esta investigación también pretende contribuir a la adquisición de vocabulario en inglés en estudiantes de octavo grado en la Escuela de Educación Básica "Mariscal Sucre" a través de un folleto con textos seleccionados y ejercicios dirigidos a desarrollar vocabulario en inglés. Se utiliza como una herramienta adicional a las utilizadas en clase. El trabajo de este folleto tiene como objetivo mejorar la comprensión de lectura en inglés. Cuenta con historias cortas que se adaptan al nivel de comprensión de los alumnos tanto en el conocimiento del inglés así como también en la extensión del texto.Universidad de Guayaquil.
