Se plantearon 3 preguntas científicas, alrededor de las cuales gira la investigación. Fue necesario ampliar la teoría respecto a que actividades se desarrollan en un edificio Municipal, las características que tienen, las normas y criterios a tomar en cuenta en el diseño, así como analizar proyectos existentes a nivel internacional como nacional. Se analizó el edificio existente, los espacios que se requiere implementar, así como la situación en la que se encuentra la estructura del edificio. También se realizó una encuesta dirigida a los trabajadores municipales, para conocer su opinión respecto a la necesidad de espacios y los problemas actuales que se les presentan para realizar su trabajo. Toda la información reunida permitió responder las preguntas planteadas en la presente investigación. Se realizó una programación arquitectónica que recoge todos los datos teórico que contiene la propuesta, se plantearon objetivos, se determinó funciones, actividades, mobiliarios necesarios, también se estableció áreas mínimas para un correcto funcionamiento, la relación de los espacios entre sí para determinar la mejor ubicación de los mismo en el proyecto, y por último se desarrolló un boceto basado en el concepto que refleja la cultura del cantón Naranjito.The document gathers all the data analyzed during the previous study of the proposed increase and remodeling of the Municipal Building of the Canton Naranjito, which responds to a problem given by the overcrowding work that currently exists due to the lack of space, a need that has been producing as the canton has grown. Three scientific questions were raised, around which the investigation turns. It was necessary to expand the theory regarding what activities are carried out in a Municipal building, the characteristics they have, the norms and criteria to be taken into account in the design, as well as to analyze existing projects at an international and national level. The existing building was analyzed, the spaces that need to be implemented, as well as the situation in which the structure of the building is located. A survey was also carried out aimed at municipal workers, to find out their opinion regarding the need for spaces and the current problems that are presented to them to carry out their work. All the information gathered allowed us to answer the questions posed in the present investigation.
