Por este motivo el presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo determinar el nivel de conocimiento de los alumnos de décimo semestre del periodo lectivo 2018-219 del ciclo I de la Facultad Piloto de Odontología de la Universidad de Guayaquil sobre manejo de protocolos de bioseguridad en atención a pacientes con VIH\SIDA. Se realizó un trabajo de campo con un diseño analítico de corte trasversal en la que se decidió aplicar encuesta a nuestra población conformada de 266 estudiantes del décimo semestre, Teniendo una variedad de resultados de nivel de conocimiento de los protocolo de bioseguridad en la atención de paciente con VIH/SIDA demuestran, el promedio de respuestas afirmativas de los 266 estudiantes participante equivale a un nivel muy bueno, teniendo como resultado el nivel más bajo del 1% y el más alto es de 95% de la cual su nivel de conocimiento es de 75.07%.The level of knowledge of dentists about the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), biosafety protocols and occupational risk in the care of patients with HIV / AIDS is of paramount importance since it allows to prevent the transition or infection in professional practice, in Ecuador since the first case was notified, until March 2007. According to the National AIDS Plan (PNS), a total of 10,364 cases are estimated. For this reason, this research study aims to determine the level of knowledge of the students of the tenth semester of the 2018-219 school year at the dentistry faculty of the University of Guayaquil on the management of biosafety protocols in care for patients with HIV \ AIDS. A field study is carried out with a cross-sectional analytical design in which the survey application is administered to the population made of 266 of the aforementioned participants; thus having a variety of results of level of knowledge of the biosafety protocol in patient care With HIV / AIDS.
