En este sentido, es un examen complementario de inestimable valor en el diagnóstico de lesiones del complejo buco-maxilofacial, siendo de gran utilidad en cuestiones de orden legal. A tales efectos se realizó una revisión bibliográfica exhaustiva para exponer algunos aspectos relacionados con esta temática. La radiografía panorámica siempre sera útil para diagnosticar cualquier tipo de anomalía en las distintas especialidades de la odontología, tales como: ortodoncia, periodoncia, operatoria, cirugía, prótesis, endodoncia o en pediatría. Por ello es de vital importancia saber interpretar las imágenes que nos ofrece la radiografía panorámica en todos estos aspectos para lograr un diagnóstico eficiente y obtener un buen plan de tratamiento para nuestros pacientes en las distintas disciplinas. Knowing the importance and usefulness of panoramic radiographs will help to become aware of the advances that the Dentistry sector has suffered. In this sense, it is a complementary test of inestimable value in the diagnosis of lesions of the oro-maxillofacial complex, and for archival preservation, being of great value in legal matters. To this end, an exhaustive bibliographic review was carried out to expose some aspects related to this topic. Panoramic radiography will always be useful to us to diagnose any type of anomaly that is for the different specialties of dentistry, such as: orthodontics, periodontics, operative, surgery, and prosthetics, endodontic or in pediatrics. Therefore, it is vitally important to know how to recognize the use of panoramic radiography in all these aspects in order to offer a good diagnosis and a good treatment when performing them in the different areas mentioned above.Universidad de Guayaquil.
