Aparecen aproximadamente en el 2.5% de la población y no acostumbran a dar sintomatología, su hallazgo suele ser casual en pruebas radiográficas de rutina en la clínica dental o como consecuencia del retraso en la erupción del diente definitivo habitual. Estos dientes son de suma importancia por su asociación con las alteraciones de posición, erupción y retención de los dientes permanentes, en la exposición de caso clínico, no presentó dolor ni molestia. Fue hallazgo radiográfico. Objetivo: Extraer diente supernumerario incluido entre las piezas 34-35 en paciente adolescente, En la preparación quirúrgica se utilizó anestésico Lidocaína al 2%, incisión festoneada, colgajo muco-periostico tipo total, se efectuó osteotomía y sutura Inter papilar . Discusión: para evitar complicaciones y secuelas cuando se presentan pacientes con dientes supernumerarios, es importante un diagnóstico temprano mediante el examen radiográfico Conclusión: Estos dientes en algunas ocasiones generan retardo en la erupción de los dientes permanentes una vez extraídos en el 50% de los casos el diente permanente aparece de entre 7-24 meses, pero debemos de tener muy en cuenta que una vez eliminado el diente supernumerario debe ser retirado también el saco peri coronario debido a que se pueden presentar quistes residualesSupernumerary teeth can occur isolated or in pairs, erupted or impacted and sometimes inverted. They appear in approximately 2.5% of the population and do not usually give symptoms. Their finding is usually casual in routine radiographic tests in the dental clinic or because of the delay in the eruption of the usual definitive tooth.
