Se desarrolló gracias a un proyecto de investigación realizado durante el periodo académico 2019-2020 en la Universidad de Guayaquil, por los estudiantes de la Facultad de Ciencias Psicológicas. Se planteó como objetivo general, caracterizar la satisfacción del personal docente de la unidad educativa Tejar. El enfoque teórico empleado en este proyecto de investigación es el de la teoría bifactorial de Herzberg. La metodología utilizada es mixta, ya que se procesan datos cuantitativos y cualitativos, de tipo no experimental de corte transversal y exploratoria descriptiva. La muestra estuvo constituida por 27 docentes. Los principales resultados apuntan a que la mayoría de los docentes tienen una satisfacción global con el trabajo. En cuanto al tiempo de permanencia resultan más satisfechos los que han laborado en la institución entre 5 y 6 años. En los factores de contexto los aspectos de mayor satisfacción están en la relación jefe supervisor y compañeros de trabajo; mientras que en los de contenido, están el trabajo en sí y las oportunidades de promoción. La satisfacción con fuentes de insatisfacción se concentra, en cuanto al contexto, en los aspectos de compañeros de trabajo y condiciones de trabajo, así como retribución; y, en cuanto al contenido, en el trabajo en sí. La insatisfacción, en cuanto a los factores de contexto se vincula a retribución y condiciones de trabajo y, en cuanto al contenido, a las oportunidades de promociónThe research consists of the study of job satisfaction of the teaching staff of the Tejar educational unit. It was developed thanks to a research project carried out during the academic period 2019- 2020 at the University of Guayaquil, by students of the Faculty of Psychological Sciences. The general objective was to characterize the satisfaction of the teaching staff of the Tejar educational unit. The theoretical approach used in this research project is that of Herzberg's bifactorial theory. The methodology used is mixed, since quantitative and qualitative data are processed, non- experimental, cross-sectional and exploratory descriptive. The sample consisted of 27 teachers. The main results point to the fact that the majority of teachers have global job satisfaction. Regarding the length of stay, those who have worked in the institution between 5 and 6 years are more satisfied.
