El objetivo de este trabajo es Determinar el nivel de conocimiento de los padres de familia frente a los traumatismos dentales. Metodología: se realizó el estudio mediante una encuesta realizada a los padres de 75 niños de la Unidad Educativa “Cap. César Edmundo Chiriboga González”. Dicha encuesta constaba de 10 preguntas y se las realizó por medio de una dirección de enlace web. Resultados: el nivel de conocimiento de los padres de familia frente a un traumatismo dental es bajo, siendo la edad de 7 años y el sexo masculino con mayor prevalencia que sufren traumatismo dental. Conclusión: Se concluyó que el nivel de conocimiento de los padres de familia de la Unidad Educativa “Cap. César Edmundo Chiriboga González” frente a los traumatismos dentales es deficiente. También hubo casos en donde los padres no acudieron al odontólogo luego del que niño sufrió el traumatismo dental.Dental traumatisms are nowadays a very common dental emergency in childhood. These dental traumatisms alter the functionality of dental and phonetic structures, even delaying the eruption of dental pieces. The objective of this study is to determine the level of knowledge of parents regarding dental trauma. Methodology: The study was carried out by means of a survey of the parents of 74 children of the "Cap. César Edmundo Chiriboga González" Educational Unit. The survey consisted of 10 questions and was carried out through a web link address. Results: The level of knowledge of parents regarding dental trauma is low, with the age of 7 years and the male sex having the highest prevalence of dental trauma. Conclusion: It was concluded that the level of knowledge of the parents of the "César Edmundo Chiriboga González" Educational Unit regarding dental trauma is deficient. There were also cases in which the parents did not go to the dentist after the child suffered dental trauma.Universidad de Guayaquil.
