Also, an interview with the institution’s authorities was conducted. The study employed techniques such as surveys, interviews, and data analysis. Results showed that, although the students identify as Afro descendants, they lack a clear understanding of their cultural elements. However, they view their culture as a significant part of their learning process and expressed enthusiasm for using Afro-Ecuadorian oral traditions as a didactic resource in the classroom to improve their oral production and explore their Afro-Ecuadorian identity. Con el fin de mejorar la producción oral de los estudiantes de noveno año en la Unidad Educativa Luis Alfredo Noboa Icaza, quienes deben estar en el nivel A2 según el Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para las Lenguas (CEFR), y de promover la preservación y difusión de las tradiciones orales afroecuatorianas, se realizó un estudio mixto con una muestra de treinta estudiantes que se identificaron como afros ecuatorianos. También se llevó a cabo una entrevista con las autoridades de la institución. El estudio utilizó técnicas como encuestas, entrevistas y análisis de datos. Los resultados indicaron que, aunque los estudiantes se identifican como afrodescendientes, no tienen un conocimiento claro de los elementos de su cultura. Sin embargo, consideran su cultura como un aspecto relevante en su proceso de aprendizaje y mostraron entusiasmo por usar las tradiciones orales afroecuatorianas como recurso didáctico en el aula para mejorar su producción oral y explorar su identidad afroecuatoriana.Universidad de Guayaquil.
