El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo estudiar el uso del injerto de tejido conectivo como tratamiento en las recesiones gingivales, este tratamiento quirúrgico permite eliminar la presencia de hipersensibilidad, evitar la aparición de caries radicular, mejorar el contorno gingival y de igual forma recuperar la estética del paciente, mediante una investigación cualitativa, exploratoria y documental enfocada en investigar los beneficios de la aplicación de la cirugía mucogingival y las diferentes técnicas quirúrgicas utilizadas y así mismo sus resultados en el recubrimiento de las recesiones gingivales, la corrección de los defectos morfológicos, la posición y dimensión del tejido periodontal mediante fuentes de información. Se realizó un análisis de todos los factores asociados al origen de esta patología periodontal, las técnicas de recolección de tejido conectivo y de igual forma las técnicas de preparación del lecho receptor, se estableció cuando está indicado el uso de este tratamiento concluyendo que es el que proporciona mejor recubrimiento radicular y un aumento de tejido queratinizado.Gingival recession is established as a clinical condition because the gingival margins are displaced apically to the amelocemental junction, leaving part of the root surface exposed and affecting a large percentage of the human population, about 60% of the world population suffers from gingival recession. This research work aims to study the use of connective tissue graft as a treatment for gingival recession. This surgical treatment allows eliminating the presence of hypersensitivity, avoiding the appearance of root caries, improving the gingival contour, and also recovering the patient's esthetics, using qualitative research, This qualitative, exploratory, and documentary research focused on investigating the benefits of the application of mucogingival surgery and the different surgical techniques used, as well as their results in the covering of gingival recessions, the correction of morphological defects, the position and dimension of the periodontal tissue using information sources. An analysis of all the factors associated with the origin of this periodontal pathology, the techniques for the collection of connective tissue, and also the techniques for the preparation of the receptor bed was carried out, it was established when the use of this treatment is indicated, concluding that it is the one that provides the best root coverage and an increase of keratinized tissueUniversidad de Guayaquil.
