Esta investigación se enmarcó en un diseño No experimental, descriptiva-explicativa, y Transversal o longitudinal, cuyos procesos se dieron con los métodos inductivo-deductivo; y, analítico-sintético, y la recolección de información aplicando las técnicas de observación y encuesta, con una muestra de 100 estudiantes del Décimo Semestre de la Facultad Piloto de Odontología de la Universidad de Guayaquil, que respondieron a un cuestionario de nueve preguntas en base a la escala de Likert. La discusión de los resultados se orientó al cumplimiento del objetivo general y la verificación de las hipótesis en base a lo reflejado en la información obtenida por la investigación misma y de la encuesta con la aplicación del software de Microsoft Excel y el Programa estadístico de Rho Spearman del Software SPSS, destacándose que la variable Aplicación del dique de goma mantiene una relación significativa aunque positiva muy baja con la variable Pre apertura y post apertura cameral al presentar un coeficiente de correlación de 0.167 y un Sig. Bilateral de ,139 (Sig. < 0.05).This study that focuses on the "knowledge about the application of the pre-opening and post-opening cameral rubber dam", in view of the expectation and insecurity assumed by the students in the opening of the chamber. The aim of this study is to describe the route of establishment of the advantages and disadvantages of an absolute isolation before and after the opening of the chamber with the purpose of determining the knowledge on the application of the rubber dam to execute the pre-opening and post-opening of the chamber. This investigation was framed in a non-experimental, descriptive-explanatory transversal and longitudinal design. Processes were given with the inductive-deductive methods as well as analytical-synthetic, and the collection of information by applying the observation and survey techniques. In addition, a sample consisted of 100 students of the tenth semester of dentistry faculty at the University of Guayaquil; they were given a Likert scale questionnaire. Findings discussion was oriented to the fulfillment of the general objective and the verification of the hypotheses based on what was reflected in the information obtained by the research itself and the survey with the application of Microsoft Excel software and the Rho Spearman Statistical Program of the SPSS Software; thus, highlighting that the variable Application of the rubber dam maintains a significant but positive relationship very low with the variable Pre aperture and post-aperture cameral when presenting a correlation coefficient of 0.167 and a Sig.
