Sedesarrolló mediante una metodología de enfoque cualitativo, exploratorio, no experimental de cortetransversal. Con una muestra seleccionada de cuatro adultas mayores de 69 a 84 años, sin cónyuge ysin deterioro cognitivo (valoración obtenida por el Test Mini Mental State Examination). Loinstrumentos aplicados fueron: Ficha de caracterización, Entrevista a profundidad, Escala ESTE-R,Cuestionario de Afrontamiento al Estrés CAE, y Grupo focal. Según los resultados obtenidos, el estilode afrontamiento más utilizado por las adultas mayores se centra en la emoción, caracterizado por lareligión y evitación. La soledad que más se presentó es la conyugal. A partir de esto, se pudo concluique apoyo social es importante para el desarrollo psicosocial en esta etapa de la adultez tardía.This case analysis aims to characterize the coping styles used in the face of loneliness in older adults who attend the Church Evangelic of Christ in Babahoyo. It was developed through a qualitative, exploratory, non-experimental cross-sectional approach methodology. With a selected sample of four older adults aged 69 to 84 years, without a spouse and without cognitive impairment (assessment obtained by the Mini Mental State Examination Test). The instruments applied were: Characterization sheet, In-depth interview, ESTE-R Scale, CAE Stress Coping Questionnaire, and Focus Group. According to the results obtained, the coping style most used by older adults focuses on emotion, characterized by religion and avoidance. The loneliness that most appeared is the marital one.
