| spelling | Conocimientos actuales sobre el bruxismoLiu Riera, Melanie LisethBRUXISMOSISTEMA ESTOMATOGNATICOETIOLOGIAPDFEl bruxismo se define como una patología involuntaria del sistema estomatognático caracterizado por rechinar o apretar las piezas dentarias, se ha convertido en una enfermedad de salud bucal muy común en los últimos tiempos sin importar su incidencia, jóvenes o adultos, su etiología es muy compleja se incluyen muchos factores pero se relaciona generalmente con factores psicológicos y de comportamiento recalcando con mucho énfasis la ansiedad, temor y el estrés. En el examen exploratorio extrabucal e intrabucal las características clínicas en este tipo de patología se desarrollan en lesiones dentarias, alteraciones de los músculos estomatognáticos y de la limitación de la articulación mandibular. Es muy importante que su diagnóstico y tratamiento sea lo más pronto posible para asi poder desarrollar medidas preventivas para poder detectar sus signos y síntomas mediante la historia clínica, exámenes extrabucales e intrabucales, en el bruxismo muy necesario que este tipo de evaluaciones estén acompañadas por exámenes complementarios como radiografías y exámenes psicológicos si es necesario.Bruxism is defined as an involuntary pathology of the stomatognathic system characterized by grinding or clenching of the teeth, it has become a very common oral health disease in recent times regardless of its incidence, young people or adults, its etiology is very complex. They include many factors but are generally related to psychological and behavioral factors, emphasizing anxiety, fear and stress. In the extraoral and intraoral exploratory examination, the clinical characteristics in this type of pathology develop in dental lesions, alterations of the stomatognathic muscles and the limitation of the mandibular joint.
