La sociedad actual se está transformando, evolucionando; y exige a esta universidad y a sus académicos e investigadores, dar respuestas para enfrentar estos cambios en la perspectiva de la construcción de la sociedad del Buen Vivir. No obstante, este desafío, uno de los grandes problemas que enfrenta la educación superior es el escaso aporte que brinda a la producción científica. En el presente trabajo se realiza un estudio de la producción científica como fuente de información, centrado en la Universidad de Guayaquil. La metodología aplicada fue con enfoque mixto, realizándose entrevistas a personas responsables de los procesos de investigación y encuestas a los docentes de la Universidad de Guayaquil, Se concluye que existe una priorización por la docencia antes que la investigación, evidenciándose una escasa cultura investigativa, no obstante, la gran experiencia en los procesos de aula, en investigación formativa, tutorías de proyectos, etc., éstas no han sido recogidas ni sistematizadas, por lo que no se han constituido en aportes al conocimiento a través de la publicación de aquellas experiencias exitosas. Desde este punto de vista se elabora una propuesta de Sistematización de Experiencias Educativas para contribuir al desarrollo de la producción científica de la Universidad de Guayaquil.One of the great challenges that the Ecuadorian university must face is to contribute to the development of knowledge from the substantive functions that give it its reason for being: Academy, Linkage and Research. Today's society is transforming, evolving; and requires this university and its academics and researchers to provide answers to face these changes in the perspective of the construction of the Good Living society. However, this challenge, one of the great problems facing higher education is the limited contribution it makes to scientific production. In the present work, a study of scientific production as a source of information is carried out, centered on the University of Guayaquil. The methodology applied was with a mixed approach, conducting interviews with people responsible for the research processes and surveys of the teachers of the University of Guayaquil. It is concluded that there is a prioritization of teaching before research, showing a scarce research culture, no However, the great experience in classroom processes, in formative research, project tutorials, etc., these have not been collected or systematized, so they have not become contributions to knowledge through the publication of those successful experiences.
