A los pacientes edéntulos se los consideran como una enfermedad crónica, irreversible o invalidante en todos los pacientes desdentados total o parcialmente , la pérdida de dientes afecta a la Articulación Temporomandibular (ATM), dejando una alteración a la oclusión dental, el desarrollo de una prótesis es fundamental para poder corregir este tipo problema y para poder elaborarlo se necesita la ayuda del articulador semi-ajustable, sin embargo, este nos ayuda a diagnosticar y elegir el tratamiento adecuado observando los puntos de contacto de los dientes superiores e inferiores, ya que es muy importante en la rehabilitación de prótesis dentales. El objetivo es realizar una revisión sistemática sobre el uso del articulador semiajustable en la rehabilitación de paciente edéntulos. La metodología aplicada fue cualitativa, transversal y documental. Para la realización de esta investigación se seleccionaron 1000 artículos científicos de la base de datos Google Scholar y mediante los criterios de inclusión y exclusión se seleccionaron un promedio de 44 artículos para este trabajo. Como resultado, se obtuvo que en América Latina el Perú tiene mayor uso del articulador y son los hombres quienes demandan su uso y no existe evidencia científica que sustente su uso y adaptabilidad en los pacientes.There are different types of patient who have problems in the stomatognathic system and they must undergo some type of comprehensive treatment or diagnosis in order to correct the difficulties they present. Edentulous patients are considered a chronic, irreversible or disabling disease in all edentulous patients, the loss of teeth will affect the TMJ, leaving an alteration to the occlusion, the development of a prosthesis is essential to correct this type of problem and to To be able to elaborate it is needed with the help of the semi-adjustable articulator.
