Está indicado para recuperar espacio en la arcada inferior, mantener el espacio libre, tratar las maloclusiones relacionadas con la succión del labio inferior. Esta investigación tiene como objetivo principal determinar los beneficios del lip bumper como terapéutica en la corrección de la succión del labio inferior, estos paciente presentan una clase II esquelética y un perfil convexo, la edad en la que es más eficaz el lip bumper es de los 6 a 12 años cuando están en una dentición mixta, entre los tres tipos de lip bumper el que ha dado mayor resultado es el fijo ya que al estar asentado fijamente hace que trabaje con las fuerzas del propio individuo, causando efectos dentoalveolares tales como la expansión transversal, elongación del arco, vestibularización incisiva, distalización molar, intrusión, desrotación, lingualización , enderezamiento, mantenimiento/aumento del espacio libre. Se realizó el análisis bibliográfico de los últimos 5 años donde se llegó a la conclusión que el lip bumper es fundamental en el tratamiento del labio inferior ya que es un aparato ortodòntico que tiene una acción ortopédica utilizando fuerzas provenientes de la actividad humana y al tratarse en una dentición mixta donde el paciente se encuentra en pleno desarrollo y al usarse fijo en boca da mayores resultados que al usarlo removible. Entonces el lip bumper si cumple con todos los objetivos deseados en el tratamiento.The lip bumper is a functional device capable of neutralizing the forces produced by the lips and cheeks, releasing the expansive action produced by the tongue. It is indicated to recover space in the lower arch, maintain free space, and treat malocclusions related to lower lip suction. The main objective of this investigation is to determine the benefits of the lip bumper as a therapy in the correction of the suction of the lower lip, these patients present a skeletal class II and a convex profile, the age at which the lip bumper is most effective is from 6 to 12 years old when they are in a mixed dentition, among the three types of lip bumper the one that has given the best results is the fixed one, since being firmly seated makes it work with the individual's forces, causing dentoalveolar effects such as expansion transverse, arch elongation, incisor localization, molar distalization, intrusion, derotation, legalization, straightening, maintenance/increase of clearance. The bibliographic analysis of the last 5 years was carried out, where it was concluded that the Lip Bumper is essential in the treatment of the lower lip since it is an orthodontic appliance that has an orthopedic action using forces from human activity and when treated in a mixed dentition where the patient is in full development and when using fixed in the mouth gives better results than when using removable.
