| spelling | Factores de riesgo de enfermedad periodontal en pacientes de 40 a 65 años de edadRamos Bustamante, Jheimy AnabelleFACTORES DE RIESGOPLACA BACTERIANADIABETES MELLITUSPDFEnfermedad periodontal se denomina al conjunto multifactorial que afectan al soporte de periodonto y óseo, existen distintos factores que pueden desarrollar la enfermedad o incrementar su severidad, entre estos están los indicadores esta la higiene oral, estrés, osteoporosis, los determinantes edad, sexo, raza, los factores como tabaco y diabetes y predictores como sangrado al sondaje condicionan que los tejidos se vean afectados, Teniendo en cuenta el número de factores de riesgo detectados puede anticiparse e interceptarse el desarrollo de la enfermedad, los pacientes en edades entre 45-60 años susceptibles a enfermedad periodontal por lo que es necesario evaluar los factores de riesgo para mejorar el pronóstico. Objetivo: Determinar los factores de riesgo que progresan la enfermedad periodontal en pacientes de 40 a 65 años. Metodología: La investigación es cuantitativa, de tipo no experimental, descriptiva y transversal, el método empleado es el científico, la técnica usada es la observación y los instrumentos de recolección de datos son la encuesta y la historia clínica. Resultados: De los 240 estudiantes encuestados, 98 (40.2%) indicaron que sus pacientes presentaban diabetes mellitus; mientras que, de las 141 fichas clínicas de pacientes con factores de riesgo de enfermedad periodontal, 19 pacientes de sexo masculino y 65 de sexo femenino presentaron hipertensión, y 12 pacientes de sexo masculino y 27 de sexo femenino presentaron diabetes mellitus. Conclusión: Los factores de riesgo que más influyen en la progresión de la periodontopatía en pacientes en edades entre 40-65 años son la hipertensión y diabetes.Periodontal disease is called the multifactorial group that affects the support of periodontium and bone, there are different factors that can develop the disease or increase its severity, among these indicators are oral hygiene, stress, osteoporosis, age, sex, race, factors such as tobacco and diabetes and predictors such as bleeding from probing condition that the tissues are affected, Taking into account the number of risk factors detected, the development of the disease can be anticipated and intercepted, patients aged between 45-60 years susceptible to periodontal disease so it is necessary to evaluate the risk factors to improve the prognosis. Objective: To determine the risk factors that progress periodontal disease in patients aged 40 to 65 years.
