Se utilizó una metodología basada en el un enfoque cuantitativo no experimental de tipo transversal con un alcance descriptivo, con una muestra de 20 niños junto a un representante familiar por cada uno. Entre los principales resultados obtenidos, se logró identificar que la mayoría de las familias poseen una funcionalidad ‘’medianamente disfuncional’’, lo cual no ha generado un declive en el rendimiento escolar de los niños y niñas. Por último, se puede precisar que, a raíz de la actual crisis sanitaria en los hogares de niños matriculados, se incrementó el apoyo educativo, emocional y físico, creando así, vínculos más sólidos entre los integrantes de las familiasThe general objective of this research was to characterize the academic accompaniment provided by parents in the online education of first-year children of basic education of the School of Private Education Galo Plaza Lasso using the data obtained through the instruments applied to parents in this educational establishment. A methodology was used based on a quantitative, cross-sectional experimental approach with a descriptive scope, with a sample of 20 children together with a family representative for each. Among the main results obtained, it was possible to identify that many families have a functionality that is 'moderately dysfunctional'', which has not led to a decline in the school performance of boys and girls.
