In the selected educational center, it has been identified that the most deficient skills in students are comprehension and listening. Therefore, the problem is addressed from the need to develop a didactic guide using music as a tool to facilitate language learning. The research was directed to the population of second-year students and the teacher of the area, a questionnaire was applied to the students and an interview was conducted with the teacher. The results indicated the importance of incorporating music as a class strategy and the need to develop this guide to provide the teacher with a bank of activities that strengthen listening and comprehension skills. To carry it out, 8 class guides were designed with their respective objectives, workshops and educational resources from the use of music.El inglés es la apertura hacia un abanico de oportunidades, tanto laborales como profesionales, consciente de la importancia y de la realidad del sistema educativa nacional en donde existe un bajo rendimiento en el área de inglés, resulta necesario fortalecer las habilidades y manejo de un segundo idioma. En el centro educativo seleccionado se ha identificado que las habilidades más deficientes en los estudiantes son la comprensión y escucha. Por lo tanto, se aborda la problemática desde la necesidad de elaborar una guía didáctica utilizando la música como herramienta que facilite el aprendizaje del idioma. La investigación fue dirigida a la población de estudiantes de segundo año y al docente del área, se aplicó un cuestionario a los estudiantes y se realizó una entrevista a la docente. Los resultados indicaron la importancia de incorporar a la música como estrategia de clase y la necesidad de elaborar esta guía para facilitar al docente un banco de actividades que fortalezcan las habilidades de escucha y comprensión. Para llevarlo a cabo, se diseñaron 8 guías de clases con sus respectivos objetivos, talleres de trabajo y recursos educativos desde el uso de la música.Universidad de Guayaquil.
