El objetivo que se quiere conseguir es analizar la importancia del tratamiento periodontal en pacientes clasificados con ASA III. Para esto se va a realizar una revisión bibliográfica y exploratoria que va a ayudar a examinar la enfermedad periodontal y los diferentes tipos de terapias o tratamientos que se pueden aplicar en las enfermedades que se encuentran dentro de esta clasificación. Como conclusión se analizó que el tratamiento periodontal es importante debido a que este ayuda a controlar los procesos inflamatorios e infecciosos y la reparación de los tejidos periodontales que se perdieron por la enfermedad. Tiene una fase sistémica que puede estudiar los hábitos de los pacientes para determinar el tipo de tratamiento que se debe escoger.Periodontal disease is one of the most frequent pathologies that affect the oral cavity, more specifically the tissues that englobe the teeth, this can cause many problems that will affect one's system if it continues its natural course. That’s the reason why it is recommended to have a specific treatment so the periodontal disease cannot continue. The objective that we want to achieve is to analyze the importance of periodontal treatments in patients englobed or classified with ASA 3. To achieve this, we will conduct an exploratory and bibliographical review that will help examine periodontal disease and the different types of treatment or therapies that can be applied to the various pathologies we encounter in this classification. To conclude it was analyzed that periodontal treatment is of utmost importance because it helps to control the inflammatory and infectious processes and restores the periodontal tissues that were lost to the disease. It has a systemic phase that can study the patients habits to help us determine which treatment can be chosen.Universidad de Guayaquil.
