| spelling | Enfermedad periodontal y embarazoCujilema Sayay, Adelina LeonorENFERMEDADES PERIODONTALESEMBARAZOGINGIVITISPDFLa enfermedad periodontal es una de las patologías que afectan comúnmente a las mujeres embarazadas, este tipo de patologías pueden provocar alteraciones bucales o agravar las ya establecidas, trayendo como otras de las consecuencias: un parto pretérmino y bajo peso al nacer por lo cual se recomienda que una vez que se haga presente esta patología en la cavidad bucal sea tratada para evitar futuras complicaciones Objetivo: Determinar la relación del embarazo con la enfermedad periodontal mediante una revisión bibliográfica actualizada se aplicó metodología con un diseño de investigación exploratorio y documental donde los resultados obtenido de uno de los autores de la investigación fueron: se le realizó un estudio descriptivo y transversal a 157 gestantes para determinar su estado gingival y el resultado fue el siguiente: 40,8% de las gestantes se encontraban en el tercer trimestre de embarazo, así como un predominio de la gingivitis con 52,2% y gingivitis moderada con 40,1% concluyendo así que la enfermedad gingival correspondió a las que se enmarcaban en el tercer trimestre de su embarazo.Periodontal disease is one of the pathologies that commonly affect pregnant women, this type of pathologies can cause oral affections or aggravate those already established, bringin as another consequence: a premature labor and low birth weight for which it is recommended that once this pathology is present in the oral cavity has to be treated to avoid future complications. Objective: the goal is to determine the relationship between pregnancy and periodontal disease through an updated bibliographic review. Methodology was applied with an exploratory and documentary research design, where the results obtained from one of the authors of the research were: a descriptive and cross sectional study was carried out on 157 pregnant women to determine their gingival status and the result was that 40,8% of the pregnant women were in the third trimester of pregnancy, as well as a prevalence of gingivitis of 52.2% and moderate gingivitis with 40.1%. thus concluding that the gingival disease corresponded to those who were in their third month of pregnancy.Universidad de Guayaquil.
