Through a mixed approach and an exploratory, descriptive and bibliographic review, it was possible to support the literature presented in this project, which was the fundamental basis for the design of the proposal. The research instruments were applied in the Unidad Educativa Generación Nuevo Milenio, where through interviews with the main authority and English teacher, and a survey to tenth grade students, it was possible to define the importance of learning idiomatic expressions to improve their understanding of the language and the usefulness of the use of audiovisual material to make the process easy and entertaining. Therefore, the use of a didactic guide with a variety of complementary activities based on television series was proposed to strengthen the teaching-learning process of these linguistic structures. Esta investigación se realizó con la finalidad de determinar la influencia de las series de TV para el aprendizaje de expresiones idiomáticas en inglés. A través de un enfoque mixto y de una revisión exploratoria, descriptiva y bibliográfica, se pudo sustentar la literatura expuesta en este proyecto, la cual fue base fundamental para el diseño de la propuesta. Los instrumentos de investigación fueron aplicados en la Unidad Educativa Generación Nuevo Milenio, donde por medio de entrevistas a la autoridad principal y docente de inglés, y una encuesta a los estudiantes de décimo año, se pudo definir la importancia del aprendizaje de expresiones idiomáticas para mejorar su comprensión del idioma y la utilidad del uso de material audiovisual para hacer que el proceso sea fácil y entretenido. Por ello, se propuso el uso de una guía didáctica con una variedad de actividades complementarias basadas en series televisivas para fortalecer el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de estas estructuras lingüísticas.Universidad de Guayaquil.
