Un tratamiento adecuado de higiene dental doméstica y profesional llevan a una reducción de bacterias que producirían la enfermedad periodontal que causarían complicaciones madre e hijo. El embarazo en si no provoca la enfermedad periodontal, pero si crea un ambiente propicio para el desarrollo de las bacterias siendo una de estas el pH salival muy acido en el cual las bacterias pueden proliferar rápidamente creando un biofilm es decir placa bacteriana y en ausencia de higiene dental se produce la enfermedad periodontal, la cual empieza con gingivitis y luego a periodontitis si es que no es tratada a tiempo. Esta investigacion pretende determinar los factores que inciden en la enfermedad periodontal durante el embarazo, mediante el analisis bibliografico y cientifico de las enfermedades periodontales en la cavidad bucal, identificandose los microorganismo causantes de la enfermedad periodontal para recomendar el tratamiento adecuado para mujeres embarazadas con problemas periodontales. Por lo tanto, las mujeres embarazadas con enfermedad periodontal es necesario realizar tratamiento de raspado, alisado y pulido radicular a lo cual debe ir acompañado de cuidados e higiene por parte del paciente y los tratamientos quirúrgicos periodontales realizados post parto.Periodontal disease in pregnancy should be treated very carefully by the patient and the practitioner. Proper treatment of domestic and professional dental hygiene leads to a reduction of bacteria that would produce periodontal disease that would cause mother and child complications. Pregnancy itself does not cause periodontal disease, but it does create an environment conducive to the development of bacteria being one of these very acidic salivary pH in which bacteria can proliferate quickly creating a biofilm bacterial plaque and in the absence of Dental hygiene produces periodontal disease, which begins with gingivitis and then to periodontitis if it is not treated in time. This research aims to determine the factors that affect periodontal disease during pregnancy, through the bibliographic and scientific analysis of periodontal diseases in the oral cavity, identifying the microorganisms that cause periodontal disease to recommend appropriate treatment for pregnant women with periodontal problems. Therefore, pregnant women with periodontal disease need to be treated with scaling, smoothing and root polishing, which should be accompanied by care and hygiene by the patient and periodontal surgical treatments performed postpartum.Universidad de Guayaquil.
