El objetivo fue determinar las causas y efectos que provoca el Síndrome de Burnout en los docentes de la Facultad Piloto de Odontología, desde mayo - agosto del 2023. La metodología empleada fue cuantitativa y de análisis descriptivo, realizada a una muestra de población finita de 50 docentes profesionales en odontología y especialistas de la Facultad Piloto de Odontología, la información fue recogida mediante una ficha general que consta de 9 preguntas de información sociodemográfica y una de especialidad, e Inventario de Burnout de Maslach (MBI), que evaluó las escalas agotamiento emocional, despersonalización y realización personal. Los datos se analizaron mediante el análisis de frecuencia, las pruebas de Spearman, y Chi cuadrado. En los resultados se evidenció que no existen niveles bajos del síndrome de burnout, el 88% de los participantes presento puntuaciones medias, en la escala de agotamiento emocional se obtuvo que el 20% de los profesionales presenta esta característica a nivel medio, el 8% presenta en ponderaciones altas, en despersonalización se obtuvo que el 32% de participantes obtuvieron puntuaciones bajas y el 42% con ponderaciones medias y en la escala realización personal los datos indican que el 52% de los profesionales obtuvieron puntuaciones < de 30 que indican baja realización personal, se concluye que existe afectación media en todas las escalas.Abstract Burnout Syndrome is a subjective experience disease formed by emotions, cognitions, attitudes and behaviors, which negatively influence work and interpersonal relationships. The objective was to determine the causes and effects of Burnout Syndrome in the teachers of the Pilot Faculty of Dentistry, from May - August 2023. The methodology used was quantitative and descriptive analysis, carried out on a finite sample population of 50 professional dental teachers and specialists of the Pilot Faculty of Dentistry, the information was collected through a general form consisting of 9 questions of sociodemographic information and one of specialty, and Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), which evaluated the scales emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal fulfillment. The data were analyzed using frequency analysis and Spearman and Chi-square tests. The results showed that there are no low levels of burnout syndrome, 88% of the participants presented average scores, in the emotional exhaustion scale it was found that 20% of the professionals present this characteristic at an average level, 8% present high weights, in depersonalization it was found that 32% of the participants obtained low scores and 42% with average weights and in the personal fulfillment scale the data indicate that 52% of the professionals obtained scores < 30 indicating low personal fulfillment, it is concluded that there is average affectation in all the scales.Universidad de Guayaquil.
