Máquinas y Motores S.A. afectando el nivel de inventario debido al desconocimiento de la cantidad y momento a realizar el pedido, además ocasionando demora en la recepción y despacho generada por la incorrecta distribución de la mercadería, es así que se estableció como objetivo principal del trabajo de titulación implementar un plan de mejoramiento. Se realizó un estudio de la situación actual de la empresa, análisis de la recepción y despacho de mercadería, determinación de las variables con sus indicadores, análisis del control de inventario y la respectiva distribución de la mercadería en la bodega. Para solucionar estos problemas se analizó las marcas que tienen mayor índice de ventas, de acuerdo al análisis se realizó un nuevo diagrama de planta en la que se determinó las nuevas ubicaciones de las marcas en las estanterías de la bodega. Con respecto al control de inventario, teniendo como datos el costo unitario, volumen y ventas anuales de cada ítem se realizó la clasificación ABC de los ítems, y se estableció el respectivo conteo cíclico de los ítems de cada categoría, con los costos por mantener inventario y costos por orden de pedido mediante la aplicación del modelo EOQ se determinó la cantidad óptima a pedir y el mínimo de stock para realizar un nuevo pedido, lo cual permitió optimizar procesos en la bodega matriz, tener un mayor control sobre el inventario, y así poder cumplir con la respectiva demanda.This thesis was development according to many problems in the inventory and logistic storage of principal at the Cia. Maquinas y Motores S.A. which it gave me some problems in different ways, affecting the level of inventory where many of people unknown the quantity and timing of ordering; also, it caused delay in the reception and dispatch of merchandise so, it generated a wrong distribution of the merchandise. Although, we decided to follow a new plan which it will help me to generate as a main objective how to make an efficiently and a good job. After that, I studied the situation of the company, analyzed the reception and dispatch of some merchandises taking account the control of inventory of cellar. As a solution to solve these problems I analyzed the brands which has the highest sales into the company, according to the analysis immediately I thought to build a diagram where it provide me to have a new location and order the items on the shelves into the cellar. Finally it will be better to have a control of each merchandise like cost for each one, volume and annual sales of each item, the ABC classification with the respective cyclic count according each category, with the costs of maintaining inventory and ordering costs using the application of the EOQ model which determine the optimal quantity to get an order and the minimum stock to determine a new order to optimize processes in the principal cellar and to have greater control over the inventory and to be able to cover the respective demand.Universidad de Guayaquil.
