The research work was focused on the influence of Project-Based Learning (PBL) on oral production, with the purpose of improving English language speaking. First of all, the researchers evidenced during their internships that the students presented difficulties in oral production corresponding to the proficiency level established in the curriculum. Thus, data was collected through research techniques and instruments, such as the survey to the students and the interview to the teacher. After the analysis of the data collected, the results obtained confirmed the existence of a problem in the oral production of the language by the students. As a result, it was corroborated that despite the techniques and methods used by the EFL teacher, there were students who need to strengthen their communicative competence. A bibliographic analysis was carried out to support the relevance of PBL to promote the development of oral production. Thus, the researchers propose a didactic guide with PBL activities, which will benefit teachers as a didactic tool and students in achieving proficiency in the language corresponding to their level of study.El presente estudio se aplicó a estudiantes de Décimo Grado de Educación General Básica en la unidad educativa Liceo Naval “Comandante Rafael Andrade Lalama” durante el ciclo escolar 2020-2021. El trabajo de investigación se enfoca en la influencia que tiene el Aprendizaje Basado en Proyectos (ABP) en la producción oral, con la finalidad de mejorar el habla del idioma inglés. En primera instancia, los investigadores evidenciaron durante sus prácticas que los estudiantes presentaban dificultades en la producción oral correspondiente al nivel de proficiencia establecido en el curriculum. Se procedió a la recolección de datos a través de las técnicas e instrumentos para la investigación, como la encuesta a los estudiantes y la entrevista al docente. Luego del análisis de los datos recopilados, los resultados obtenidos confirmaron la existencia de un problema en la producción oral del idioma por parte de los estudiantes. Como resultado, se corroboró que a pesar de las técnicas y métodos empleados por el profesor de EFL, existen estudiantes que necesitan fortalecer su competencia comunicativa. Se realizó un análisis bibliográfico donde se respalda la relevancia de ABP para promover el desarrollo de la producción oral. Es así que los investigadores proponen una guía didáctica con actividades enfocadas en PBL, la misma que beneficiará a los docentes como una herramienta didáctica y a los estudiantes en alcanzar la proficiencia en el idioma correspondiente a su nivel de estudioUniversidad de Guayaquil.
