Es una inflamación de la mucosa de soporte que está en contacto con la superficie interna de las prótesis dentales removibles, posee una etiología multifactorial. Este trabajo se realizó con el fin de determinar la prevalencia de pacientes con estomatitis subprótesica en la clínica Integral de la Facultad Piloto de Odontología – periodo 2018-2019, utilizando como variables, edad, ubicación y grado de la lesión, sexo, tiempo y frecuencia de uso de la prótesis dental. A través de una metodología de investigación acción, con un estudio observacional, descriptivo de corte transversal. Como resultado, se obtuvo que del grupo de estudio, 58 pacientes presentaron estomatitis subprotésica, el sexo con mayor prevalencia fue el femenino, la mayor recurrencia se dió en el rango de edad de 41-59 años. El 97% de los pacientes utilizaron el acrílico como material de preferencia. El tiempo de uso protésico menor a 5 años fue el de mayor frecuencia, el 47% de los pacientes presentaron una higiene regular, la frecuencia de uso más relevante fue día y noche, predominó la estomatitis grado I con un porcentaje de 52%, siendo su ubicación más frecuente la zona del paladar con un 90%. En conclusión, la estomatitis subprotésica se presenta con mayor frecuencia en el sexo femenino y en pacientes que han utiizado la prótesis dental removibe por menos de 5 años.Subprosthetic stomatitis is one of the most common lesions in dental practice. It is an inflammation of the supporting mucosa that is in contact with the inner surface of removable dentures, has a multifactorial etiology. This work was carried out in order to determine the prevalence of patients with subprosthetic stomatitis at the Integral Clinic of the Faculty of Dentistry – period 2018-2019, using as variables, age, location and degree of injury, sex, time and frequency of use of the denture. Throughan action research methodology, with an observational study, descriptive cross-sectional. As a result, it was obtained from the study group that 58 patients had subprosthetic stomatitis, the sex with the highest prevalence was female, the highest recurrence occurred in the age range of 41-59 years. 97% of patients used acrylic as a preferred material. The time of prosthetic use less than 5 years was the most frequently, 47% of patients had regular hygiene, the most relevant frequency of use was day and night, dominated grade I stomatitis with a percentage of 52%, with its most frequent location being the palate area with 90%.
