| Summary: | The Quevedo canton in Ecuador, exclusively the La Esperanza parish, is famous for the production of bananas, which is an important source of income for small producers in the region. However, these manufacturers face many socioeconomic challenges that can affect their ability to maintain and improve their businesses. The socioeconomic diagnosis of small banana producers in Quevedo aims to identify and analyze the key factors that affect the production and profitability of small banana producers in the region. The factors identified include poor agriculture, lack of access to credit and financing, lack of technical training, dependence on intermediaries, and unfair competition from the main producers. The research is carried out with a mixed approach, that is, qualitative and quantitative; with the type of exploratory and descriptive research; where with the help of the first one can obtain basic information about the study area. The results have dispelled doubts about the real state of society and it is clear that fiscal policy in the banana sector needs to be improved to promote it and more companies will decide to invest in this sector. For this reason, we intend to make a clear proposal as a basis for the advancement of this important sector of the economy, in which we agree that the national government is the governing body, coordinating, promoting and controlling this sector, in order to generate more human resources, jobs and foreign exchange earnings. |
