Shrnutí:The architectural design of a public space that integrates green energy sources presents an innovative and sustainable approach to urban development. This research explored various strategies and technologies available to maximize the use of clean energy in the construction and operation of commercial infrastructure. Due to the labor informality and environmental crisis in the province of Los Ríos, the purpose was to design a shopping mall using renewable energy sources to relocate informal merchants. The methodology adopted was a mixed approach that used the quantitative method to survey 270 inhabitants of the Baba Canton and applied the qualitative method for the location´s diagnosis. The results showed that 41% had unsatisfactory shopping experiences in other areas, and 50% considered that the proposal contributes to energy savings in the community. Finally, after considering factors such as solar orientation and material efficiency, technologies like solar panels and rainwater harvesting systems are necessary to reduce conventional energy consumption and improve the quality of life.
