Therefore, the purposes of this study we have chosen the “Pile" Community of canton Montecristi in the Province of Manabí to treat their situation and analyze the economic feasibility of carrying out a project to export their product to the market of United States Southern California……El desarrollo del presente trabajo de investigación titulado “MECANISMOS PARA LA EXPORTACIÓN DEL SOMBRERO DE CARDULOVICA PALMATA HACIA EL MERCADO DEL SUR DE CALIFORNIA- ESTADOS UNIDOS” surge como respuesta a la problemática que se ha venido manifestando en los últimos años en la balanza comercial ecuatoriana, la misma que ha presentado saldos negativos debido a que el número de importaciones es mayor que el de las exportaciones, y por tanto, es posible evidenciar un bajo nivel de competitividad respecto a otros países de la región. Bajo este contexto la exportación de sombrero fino de paja toquilla, también tiene como propósito servir de apoyo a los pequeños productores artesanales, quienes carecen de los conocimientos técnicos para realizar la exportación de su producto a los mercados internacionales, y así contribuir no sólo al mejoramiento de la economía, sino también que se busca fomentar el crecimiento socioeconómico de estos artesanos para mejorar su calidad de vida y estar dentro de los lineamientos del Buen Vivir.
