Тойм:This article compiles the results of a predoctoral research stay, Erasmus+ICM_KA107 agreement, between the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) and the Antonio Nariño University (Colombia) and the objective of this article is to characterize the agenda of the digital media of Chile (El Mercurio and La Tercera), Colombia (El Tiempo and La República) and Ecuador (El Comercio and El Telégrafo) around the informative treatment of the COVID-19. It is established in the dissemination of scientific data, the behavior of the main actors and their attributes (trust and strength) and other elements such as polarization, political negativism and the degree of scientificity of the news. The first three months of the year 2021 were taken as the temporality of analysis, with a total corpus of 1,349 units of analysis. To achieve the stated objectives, content analysis was used as a method based on quantitative criteria. As main findings, they highlight that there is an uneven treatment of COVID-19 in the media, such as El Telégrafo and La Tercera with less news, as opposed to El Comercio, whose corpus has the highest proportion. In addition, certain degrees of negativism and polarization were identified in the treatment of news that show the negative consequences of the pandemic. The main actors represented in a positive way are the health agencies of each country and the health personnel, while the population in general and the WHO are represented negatively. In the same way, despite the fact that these elements of media bias exist, in news reporting on the progress of the pandemic there are criteria of scientificity; although in awareness messages they may lack this principle.
