Summary:The subject of the study is "Comparative proposal of the mechanical properties between a traditional rigid pavement and one adding metallic fibers", whose objective was to compare the mechanical properties between a traditional rigid pavement and one adding metallic fibers. The methodology used was of quantitative approach, with a correlational and experimental scope. Laboratory tests were carried out with different dosages of metallic fibers in the rigid pavement mixes to evaluate their effect on the mechanical properties of the material. The results obtained indicated a significant improvement in pavement strength and toughness with the addition of metallic fibers, suggesting their feasibility as a strategy to improve the structural behavior of pavements. The conclusions highlighted the importance of finding the right balance in fiber dosage to maximize the benefits without compromising other important characteristics, such as workability and adhesion, and the need to carefully evaluate whether the technical benefits justify the increased costs associated with the inclusion of these fibers.
