要約:The general objective of the study was to analyze shrimp exports from Ecuador to the United Kingdom in the period 2018 to 2021, in order to increase information to the Ecuadorian export sector. A documentary design research was carried out with a mixed approach at the descriptive level, studying the population constituted by shrimp exports from Ecuador to the United Kingdom in the period 2018-2021, through a nonprobabilistic sample made up of data and information retrieved from official secondary sources and international trade portals delimited by the population, as well as interviews with three representatives of the country's shrimp export sector. After the study, the most important contributions contextualize a high share of shrimp exports in the national economy, thanks to the constant development managing to position itself in the international market as a high quality product and differentiable by the phytosanitary and environmental certifications of an international nature, best production practices, and the continuous research and development for the development of products with added value. Comparing 2021 with 2018, Ecuadorian shrimp exports maintained progressive and constant growth: 67% in values and 66% in volume. In the UK market, sales are still unrepresentative of total exports; however, the background and the signing of the Trade Agreement between Ecuador and the United Kingdom in immediate force after Brexit, have influenced so that the preference continues in a scalable trend in that market, as evidenced by the evolution of sales leading to capitalize 6%, 7%, 8% and 13% of participation in that market in the years 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, respectively. It highlights ample opportunities for new exporters wishing to participate in the development of the shrimp market in the UK.
