סיכום:The construction sector drives the socio-economic development of countries worldwide, causing great impact on environmental pollution as a result of lack of control of natural resources. Currently, in order to keep up their brand within real estate sector, companies seek to innovate, trascend and contribute to reduce the carbon footprint with the application of new sustainable construction solutions endorsed by an International Certification System. This thesis project is conducted based on the analysis of the impact and influence in the implementation, observation and use of EDGE (Excellence in Desing for Greater Efficiencies) Certification standards in the design and construction phases of a housing model that follows sustainable criteria, and belongs to a private development located in “La Aurora” parish, Daule canton, Guayas province, Ecuador. To achieve this, efficiency measures are applied including low flow faucets and toilets, LED lights, solar panels, a structural system of concrete walls, among others, with the goal of reducing the use of resources by complying with the minimum of 20% water, energy and embodied energy in construction materials, so that environmental and socioeconomic benefits are obtained favoring all those involved, by minimizing the environmental impact caused by the manufacturing, use and disposal of building materials, reducing the cost of basic services such as water and electricity, as well as allowing the developer and buyer to access sustainable financing through green credits.
