Add Tag | Summary: | In the province of Bolívar, the quality of public spaces and urban green areas have been transformed and perceived as spaces privatized due to insecurity, lack of infrastructure and equipment. The Central Park of Echeandía is currently an iconic public space of the city, which has some equipment that is still in operation and infrastructure that has not been operational for more than 15 years, which has affected the functionality and use of the park by the inhabitants who have classified the park as an abandoned space and where illicit activities are practiced. Lack of maintenance and deterioration have significantly influenced the decline in visitors, turning what used to be a welcoming place into a space that feels almost abandoned. In addition, neglect and an inadequate design have caused it to lose its original functionality. It was once a symbol of social cohesion, but having lost the purpose it once had, it has also lost its ability to integrate into the community. To promote a comprehensive solution, a comprehensive urban design is proposed for the Echeandía Central Park, promoting social inclusion and economic development. This design seeks to recover the identity of the site, the local development conditions of the community, increase the number of green areas and generate a healthy space for the community. |
