The present work determined the importance of the development of cognitive skills in the students of the second year of Basic General Education with dyscalculia through the plastic arts...........La presente investigación surgió de la necesidad educativa evidenciada en la Escuela de Educación Básica Fiscal “José Elías Altamirano”, ubicada en el sector de la Floresta, de la provincia del Guayas, cantón Guayaquil; en la que se pudo observar que los estudiantes del subnivel elemental presenten dificultades para resolver operaciones lógicos matemáticos, adiciones y sustracciones correctamente. Por lo cual se manifiesta que la propuesta en Artes Plásticas desempeña un papel fundamental para emerger, aportar conocimiento y el desarrollo de habilidades en los estudiantes con necesidades educativas especiales no asociadas a una discapacidad, dentro de los espacios educativos, debido a que promueve experiencias y aprendizajes en donde permite al educando receptar la información y codificarle de manera adecuada.
