The objective was to determine the perceptions of the inhabitants of the city of Durán towards the environmental strategies taken by the Autonomous Decentralized Municipal Government of the Durán Canton. A quantitative and qualitative mixed method approach was used; because the first approach requires the deductive method, while the qualitative approach requires the inductive method, and the research was descriptive. The population was composed of inhabitants between the ages of 20 and 69 years.
