Yhteenveto: | In Ecuador, reinforced concrete has been widely used for the construction of buildings for different purposes, however, human settlements and the densification of cities demand new construction systems in accordance with the technical regulations in force in our country. Based on this, the present research aims to provide a detailed and comparative evaluation of the costs, construction times, efficiency, flexibility, sustainability, maintenance, safety and aesthetics associated with the use of reinforced concrete and structural steel in the Millennium Tower Building. To achieve this objective, this project first compiles theoretical foundations in relation to the structural behavior of both concrete and steel. It was carried out to carry out the technical-economic analysis, where the budget for each variant was obtained, the steel one being 20% cheaper compared to the concrete one. |
