Summary:This comparative study aims to determine the effectiveness of metacognitive strategies on reading comprehension, with a number of thirty participants divided into two groups that could be quantitatively synthesized to compare the group performance of the experimental and control group. The students who participated in the study received specific reading strategy instruction to improve their comprehension. Teachers must incorporate more checks for understanding and provide more opportunities to develop metacognition skills and critical thinking skills in their students.
