Regeneración urbana aplicando criterios sostenibles en el centro de Guayaquil

In the present study, due to the population growth that the city presents and with it changes in public infrastructure, it gave way to high vehicular and pedestrian demand in the center of Guayaquil. So, to recognize the problems and collect information to work with, the positive impacts of carrying out urban regeneration were identified by providing new opportunities and improving the quality of life, of which research methods were used, such as observation through a data sheet, survey and indicators. Being the implementation of four areas of action that will be supported by indicators for the design proposal and that are divided into green areas, urban mobility, urban furniture and security. However, the results with the current data lean towards increasing the surface of the pedestrian sidewalks, so that walkability is encouraged to reach the desired percentage, as well as the incorporation of shaded equipment for rest areas that are universal and that will encourage the improvement of conditions during their daily activities, as well as the social cohesion that citizens will have when using these spaces. On the other hand, it was diagnosed to improve the heat islands caused by the high temperatures that characterize the city and the incorporation of vegetation in Plaza Vicente Rocafuerte and Plazuela Guayacan that allows the development of a relationship between users and the environment. The proposal is presented with the help of architectural plans based on the compilation of previously obtained research, along with the details of the furniture that will help increase visits and participation among citizens.
