Samenvatting:The support of the family in the motor development of children with Down Syndrome is essential to obtain adequate assistance for the disability. In the Ecuadorian context there is the problem of the role of the family against Down syndrome, they were not good allies since there were many myths about disability due to ancient beliefs, in each family that had a person with Down syndrome they kept it a secret, out of shame or because they thought it was a punishment and related it a lot to their religion, denying them the opportunity to fully develop their motor skills, thus creating dependent people. Times have changed, for the good of all, disabilities without any exclusion, giving benefit to their human rights, however, new laws are still being updated and approved that will allow the participation of people with Down Syndrome in all areas, maintaining an equal opportunity. It must be taken into account that parents are not trained to be able to carry out the management of beneficial activities for the child with Down Syndrome, being a negative factor, the economy, time due to excessive work. There must be a triad of support between family, physical therapist and the child with Down syndrome, to successfully achieve inclusion and development in the social, cultural, educational and personal environment. Through this research, called ¨THE SUPPORT OF THE FAMILY IN THE MOTOR DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN WITH DOWN SYNDROME. ¨, applying various types of research with a mixed approach, accompanied by methods and instruments to the sample, obtaining as a main result to show if the correct protocol is being followed, to acquire a link between family, professional, and child with Down Syndrome, reaching the fundamental conclusion, it is possible to develop a system of training workshops for parents for guidance on motor activities in children with Down syndrome.
