Summary:This analytical model for elbow type fittings in pipe networks is based on the application of hydraulic equations. Tests are performed with different sizes of elbows and pipes, varying the flow rate and measuring the resulting pressure loss. These tests allow us to obtain real parameters on the pressure loss in elbows and water pipes, which helps us to select the most efficient components for our distribution networks. Furthermore, we can compare these results with the previously calculated theoretical values to verify their similarity. It is important to note that the constant pressure losses in water distribution pipes depend on multiple factors, such as internal pipe roughness, flow velocity, elbow geometry, among others. Therefore, having an analytical model for elbow type fittings provides us with an invaluable tool for the design and optimization of these networks. The objective of this research work is to delve into a specific problem and offer a perspective based on technical and theoretical information. To achieve this, the knowledge acquired during the course of the study will be used and applied correctly and adequately to the reality of the events that were analyzed. It is important to emphasize that this work is not limited to abstract theories, but seeks a connection with reality, examining real events and using concrete data. This implies that the research will be carried out considering both theory and practice, thus obtaining a more complete and sustained vision.
