| Yhteenveto: | The quality of urban life represents one of the main challenges of the society’s development and of the environmental-territorial system. The environmental sound indicator represented the problems approached by the research, which assessed this indicator of the environmental quality through objective and subjective scenarios, determining the existence of noise pollution for five areas of Guayaquil city. In relation with the acoustic Guayaquil’s environment, results supported and qualified urban life quality as non-acceptable. For this purpose, was raised information based on a monitoring sound, through the selection of five critical areas, which were evaluated with respect to the traffic road, and the application of a survey for acoustic citizen perception. Both scenarios related to the regulations of the Ecuador’s Environmental Ministry (MAE), which determined the noise indicator pollution of 64% and the life quality as non-acceptable, rated from medium to high criticality. Additionally, it contrasted the noise intensity with the vehicular traffic density in the tested areas, confirming the relationship between the sound, the vehicular density and the critical areas ranking. The sound indicator and the life quality evidence the importance to develop engineering measures and the vehicles organization to achieve well sound levels and suitable citizen welfare. |
