| Samenvatting: | The redesign and economic evaluation of a drinking water treatment plant with solar panels in Recinto El Carmen aims to improve the efficiency of the purification process and reduce operating costs by using renewable energy. The study focuses on incorporating solar panels as an energy source to power the plant's equipment, which reduces reliance on conventional energy sources and decreases greenhouse gas emissions. A technical and economic feasibility analysis is carried out, considering the initial costs of solar panel installation, their maintenance, and long-term savings in electricity consumption. The economic evaluation includes a cash flow analysis, considering operating and maintenance costs, as well as initial investments, and the estimated payback time. Additionally, the project's environmental impact is assessed, highlighting the benefits of clean and sustainable energy in the sector. The implementation of this energy solution in the treatment plant not only improves operational efficiency but also contributes to sustainable development and the resilience of the water infrastructure in the locality.
