Resumo:The research project is based on the improvement of the sanitary sewage system in the 24 de Mayo neighborhood, Cantón Isidro Ayora, Ecuador. It adopts a quantitative approach in civil engineering, highlighting its importance in ensuring the precision and objectivity necessary in infrastructure projects. The research design involves a quantitative methodology that includes observation, surveys, case study and experimentation. The scope of the research is descriptive, seeking to provide a detailed understanding of the current conditions of the sewer system. Data collection has been carried out through techniques such as field observation, resident surveys. Tools such as tape measures, GPS devices and advanced software have been used to obtain precise measurements and perform rigorous analysis. The study population is limited to the 24 de Mayo neighborhood. Sampling strategies include typical and critical cases, quotas to represent different segments of the population, participation of sewer experts, and random sampling. The research seeks to not only provide a basis for sewer system redesign using SewerCAD, but also generate valuable information for future research. In summary, the project addresses a vital need in urban planning, using a quantitative and descriptive approach to improve the sewage system, thus ensuring its efficiency and sustainability.
